Residents, you have a week left before the draft Strategic Planning Statement goes off public exhibition.
It’s been open for scrutiny now for almost two months.
The strategy has variously been described as;
1\ Shaping the future of the Central Coast
2\ all gloss, waffle and motherhood statements.
But people should take it seriously because it becomes council policy.
Council says it hasn’t heard much from residents of Wyong, Budgewoi, Doyalson, Yarramalong and Mangrove.
Cr Jane Smith said the Local Strategic Planning Statement is an important process for the community to engage with.
“It looks at your local area over the next 20 years – how do you want growth to be managed, what should be protected, what kind of place do you want it to be,” she said.
The statement has been on public exhibition since May 18 and Council has given presentations about it.
The Draft Local Strategic Planning Statement 2026 explains Council’s long-term plan for land use and growth on the Central Coast over the next 20 years.
It shows:
Where growth should happen
What places need protection
How towns, centres and neighbourhoods should develop
See the Statement on Council’s yourvoiceourcoast website and remember; submissions close on July 24.
