October 31 Extraordinary meeting:  IPART deadline

October 25, 2022 by Merilyn Vale

Water and Sewer Delivery Plan 2022-2026

Back in May of this year, IPART gave Central Coast Council approval to increase water rates for typical water bills by about:

$183  (17%) in 2022-23;

$80    (6%) in 2023-24, plus inflation

$106  (8%) in 2024-25 plus inflation and

$9      (1%) in 2025-26, plus inflation.

IPART also recommended that Central Coast Council’s Water and Sewer business publish, by October 31, 2022, an implementation plan for improving its performance, accountability, and transparency.

At a minimum, IPART recommended this should include:

  • expected timing to develop an Accountability Strategy and Customer Charter
  • improvements to asset management
  • expected timing and methods of customer engagement.

In response to IPART’s recommendation, Council’s Water and Sewer Directorate has prepared the Water and Sewer Delivery Plan 2022-2026.

It will be presented at an extraordinary meeting of Council-under-administration on Monday, October 31 from 4.30pm.

A public forum will be held from 4pm – if there are any speakers registered to address the council-under-administration meeting.

The 19 page glossy report is on the Council website under meetings and agendas.
