Council staff to take a break from December 20

December 11, 2024 by Merilyn Vale

Training day for Customer Service teams on Monday, January 6

Central Coast Council offices will be closed over the Christmas and New Year holiday period from Monday 23 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025, and re-open on  Monday 6 January 2025.

Council’s Administration Building at Wyong, Customer Service Centres, libraries and works depots will be closed over this period.

However, upon return on Monday 6 January 2025, Council’s Customer Service team will undertake a staff development and mandatory training day.

Counters in the Administration Building in Wyong and the Shopfront in Gosford will be closed to the public.

The Service Desks at Woy Woy library and the Visitor’s Centre at the Entrance will also be closed to the public.

Services will re-open on Tuesday 7 January 2025.

  • An after-hours service is available on 02 4306 7900 to call in any urgent reports (such as water main breaks or sewer issues, and urgent road safety issues such as fallen trees over roads)

  • Non-emergency enquiries, requests, reports or formal feedback can be submitted through Council’s online Customer Service Centre 24/7 and these will be progressed from Tuesday 2 January.

Many essential services will continue throughout the closure period.

Some of these include residential waste collection, water and sewer treatment, lifeguard patrol of 15 beaches, animal care facilities, ranger services, and a roster of staff available to respond to urgent issues that require immediate attention.

Operating hours vary per centre and activity during the Christmas holiday period.

Council offices, depots, Laycock St Theatre and libraries will be closed and reopen on Monday from 8.30am on 6 January 2025 with Early Childhood and Education and Care Centres closing from close of business on Friday 20 December 2024 and will re-open to children on Tuesday 7 January 2025.

Woy Woy and Buttonderry Waste Management Facilities will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and open other days.

Public toilet facilities will be open normal hours with regular cleaning services continuing.

Litter collection will continue at beaches, parks, reserves and playspaces, and sportsgrounds along with the cleaning of Council’s outdoor electric BBQs.

Full details of closures are available on Council’s website, centralcoast.nsw.gov.au
