Comparison figures supplied for fees and charges

April 3, 2023 by Merilyn Vale

For days leading up to the March 28 Council-under-administration meeting, its proposed fees and charges for next financial year did not show the increase – or decrease – from what is currently charged.
But at the March 28 meeting, Administrator, Rik Hart, endorsed the draft for public comment and asked that a comparison be included that showed the changes.

The comparison has arrived and makes comparing easier
Most sporting fees have gone up 3.8 per cent.
Animal registration and control fees are all different with increases from 0 to more than 6 per cent.
Yearly aircraft parking and tie down fee at Warnervale Airport has gone down 33 per cent but other fees are up about 5 per cent.
Bookings for halls, centres, galleries and theatres are above 7 per cent for some centres and less for others.
A three week small group exhibition at the Regional Art Gallery has gone up 100 per cent.
Carparking has gone up at different rates for different hours.
The first hour at Gosford car park has gone up 4.5 per cent.
Trade waste charges are up 7.3 per cent.
Water connection fees are up 7.3 per cent.
Perpetual maintenance costs per plot for cemetries have gone up 19.94 per cent.
Maintenance of internment sites has gone up 24 per cent.
There are 84 pages of fees and charges.
The new fees and charges will come in effect from July 1, but residents have until May 1 to give your feedback to council.
