Sirens Nightclub at Terrigal has applied to Council-under-administration to expand downstairs and to extend trading hours to 3am six days a week.

The two storey building at 1 Kurrawyba Ave, on the corner of Hudson Lane, currently has the nightclub upstairs which closes at 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. and Alexanders Cocktail Lounge downstairs which closes at midnight on those two nights.

Both venues close earlier on other nights.

Sirens is immediately opposite the Crown Plaza Hotel.

The proposed development is for alterations to the existing building to expand the nightclub area into the cocktail lounge downstairs to operate as one venue.

According to the Statement of Environmental Effects, the proposal operating hours would be:

Sundays 10am – Midnight.

Internal works would include a new internal entrance of the existing front doors; a new bar; a DJ booth; enclosing of the front of the downstairs portion of the building; new toilets and a ramp.

The development when completed would have a maximum capacity of 348 people.

This capacity is 198 people under the existing licence and approval for the current upper floor level space and a proposed population of 150 people in the proposed lower floor area, the application states.

No submissions from the Local Police, community or relevant stakeholders werereceived during the notification period, the Community Impact Statement states. The application was registered with Council on November 1, 2023.
