The Open Coast Coastal Management Plan is back on public exhibition until the end of March.
Councillors were briefed on the updates at a committee meeting earlier this week.
You can see and hear the staff explain next steps in potential sand nourishment for Wamberal and The Entrance North in the first 30 minutes of the meeting.
Watch that on youtube: the March 3 planning and environment committee.
Basically, council has been shown a confidential report from the Stockton Beach sand nourishment pilot and is now working with the State Government to approach the federal government for a grant of $3M to progress off shore sand nourishment approval and mining licences.
A councillor asked what comes first: a revetment wall or sand nourishment.
An adopted CMP comes first, was my understanding of the conversation.
And then there are three pathways; one for sand nourishment as above and two possible paths for revetment wall approval.
Read all about it in the CMP update on the council website: your voice our coast.
If you don’t know about that website; you need to!
That website has all the latest council projects that you can have your say on.
And there are heaps open at present.
