Civic reception for Mariners

May 22, 2025 by Merilyn Vale

Central Coast Council will host a public Civic Reception for the A-League Women’s team at Mingara Event Centre from 5.45pm tomorrow Friday, May 23.

This free event is open to all and offers fans the chance to come together and re-live the Mariners’ incredible A-League Women’s Championship win on Sunday 18 May.

Mayor Lawrie McKinna said Council is thrilled to be recognising the Mariners’ remarkable achievement and expects a fantastic turnout.

“This Civic Reception is our chance to formally honour the Mariners women’s team with a Key to the Coast and give locals the opportunity to meet the players, get photos and congratulate them in person. It’s going to be a really special evening for the whole community.”

Mariners CEO, Greg Brownlow said he is thrilled that the Central Coast Mariners Women lifted the Ninja A-League Championship in the most dramatic fashion at AAMI Park last Sunday.

“I had the absolute pleasure of being at the game and the honour of joining Emily, the team, and the CCM staff on the field moments after the winning penalty was scored,” Greg Brownlow said.

“It was an outstanding achievement and a testament to the dedication and spirit of this incredible team. We’re immensely proud of our Central Coast fan base and proud to be part of such a passionate and united community.”
